How to replace a backup battery?

Steps to replace the backup battery

1. Turn OFF the mains power to the alarm system by switching off the power point or unplugging the alarm transformer.

2. Locate the alarm control panel (metal box) and remove the small screw or unlock the door to open it.

3. When the panel door is opened, the alarm may sound. This is normal.

4. Go to the keypad and enter your usual alarm code to silence the alarm.

5. Inside the panel, disconnect the RED (positive) battery cable first, followed by the BLACK (negative) cable.

6. Remove the old battery and place the new battery into the panel.

7. Connect the RED (positive) cable first, then the BLACK (negative) cable.

8. Close the panel door and secure it with the screw or lock.

9. Restore mains power by plugging the transformer back in and switching the power point ON.

10. Allow the system a few minutes to fully power up.
