What is Fibre to the Premises (FTTP)?
Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) provides an internet connection via a direct fibre optic cable to your home.
During construction, Intelligent Home installs a conduit from the external connection location to a designated internal wall point, typically labelled “Fibre Conduit.”
An NBN technician will then:
Run a fibre cable from the street to the outside of the home
Feed the fibre cable through the installed conduit
Terminate it at the designated internal point
The technician will also install a white device called a Network Termination Device (NTD).
Once installed, you can connect your service provider’s modem to the NTD to access the internet.
