What is Fibre to the Premises (FTTP)?

Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) provides an internet connection via a direct fibre optic cable to your home.

During construction, Intelligent Home installs a conduit from the external connection location to a designated internal wall point, typically labelled “Fibre Conduit.”

An NBN technician will then:

  • Run a fibre cable from the street to the outside of the home

  • Feed the fibre cable through the installed conduit

  • Terminate it at the designated internal point

The technician will also install a white device called a Network Termination Device (NTD).

Once installed, you can connect your service provider’s modem to the NTD to access the internet.
